The Happold Foundation is pleased to announce our partnership with the Royal Academy of Engineers to deliver six enhanced Engineering Leaders Scholarships (ELS).
The ELS programme provides support for undergraduates in UK Higher Education Institutions who display the potential to become leaders and innovators in engineering and the ability to act as role models for future engineers. Our role in providing the six scholarships represent the Foundation’s commitment to help the next generation of young and talented engineers; and will focus on supporting applications from diverse and low-income backgrounds.
As well as receiving £5,000 to be used over three years towards career-related personal development activities, successful recipients gain the support of a mentor and the opportunity to attend exciting training and networking events, all of which helps them to acquire the necessary skills to become engineering leaders in UK industry, soon after graduating. The scholars will also benefit from a paid internship with Buro Happold, providing invaluable hands on work experience.
The new scholarship programme was developed by RAEng and the Happold Foundation following our involvement with the organisations GEEP programme, and our own Happold Scholarship initiative. Our work on these programmes have helped to shape a new scholarship scheme that meets the challenges and needs of today’s young engineers.
The Engineering Leaders Scholarship is accepting applications now until 4pm on 10th January 2022. Find out more and apply.
