Engineers design and create the environments in which we spend the majority of our lives. As custodians of the present, it is our responsibility to inspire those that will create the future.
Sean has always been captivated by how things work, in both the natural world and with the creations of mankind, culminated in him studying for a degree in physics at Imperial College. Before focussing on a career in finance, Sean was a teacher of physics which facilitated his passion for sharing knowledge and opening the eyes of the young to the wonders of the world around them.
As a finance professional, Sean progressed through a wide range of services industries, finally settling in the built environment, having worked for BuroHappold since early 2009. As the Finance Director, Sean has a pedigree as the guardian of financial resources used buy an organisation, providing guidance and control.
By combining his passion for imparting knowledge with a wide experience of the Built Environment, Sean is able to bring these threads together to impart a rich tapestry of knowledge to inspire the next generation to build a better future. Within the foundation, his particular interest lays with STEM education though such programmes as COYO, encouraging our upcoming engineers.
Sean stands by the old Chinese proverb “Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself”. It is for us to ensure that they want to enter.
